We believe that all our patients over the age of 45 should have a yearly blood pressure check.
The practice nurse provides blood pressure checks, cholesterol checks and lifestyle advice. We recommend that all patients with a history of Heart Disease and Stroke are reviewed every year.
We strongly recommend full immunisation and developmental checks for all pre-school children. These are carried out by the Health Visitor and doctors.
The Immunisation Clinic is run by the practice nurse. The baby clinic is run by the health visitors. At yours baby’s first assessment you will be asked to sign a form authorising your consent for any immunisations to be given.
The clinic is held regularly and is run by the doctors and practice nurse by appointment. Bloods are checked the previous week in preparation for the clinic. We also run a diabetic eye screening service once a year for our diabetic patients.
All doctors provide antenatal and pre-pregnancy care during normal surgery hours. All doctors and the practice nurse provide family planning advice. A consultation with Doctor is required first before your appointment can be scheduled.

We provide patients with support and advice on stopping smoking. If you want to stop smoking we recommend that you attend regularly before receiving any form of Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
Regular cervical smears are recommended and carried out by the practice nurse or by one of the doctors. You will be notified by post of the result. We recommend that you have your smear repeated every 3 years. Our reception stall will arrange an appointment.
